Early life
Messi was born in Rosario, Argentina, in 1987. He joined FC Barcelona's youth academy as a teenager after the club agreed to support treatment for a growth hormone deficiency.
Career journey
He made his senior Barcelona debut in 2004 and spent close to two decades at the club, winning multiple Spanish league titles and UEFA Champions League trophies. He later played for Paris Saint-Germain before joining Inter Miami in Major League Soccer in 2023. With Argentina he won the 2021 Copa América and the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
